This dramatic story set in present-day Prague centers on a successful, egotistical man whose family life is destroyed practically overnight. After his divorce, Karel Švarc is alone with his sensitive teenage daughter Klára. A disappointed, deserted man, he concentrates on her alone, but seeks freedom in the arms of prostitutes. When he finds out that Klára is having an affair with an older man, Karel can no longer control his state of mind, and the girl's eventual suicide pushes him even further over the edge. What began as the tale of a family soon changes into a crime drama in which the borderline between reality, dream and vision becomes completely blurred.
