Third part of a loose crime series – with a new case tackled by the “old” murder squad which appeared in Vermin and The Gravedigger. The scene of crime is a community centre, where preparations are under way for an alumnae´s party. The murder of one of the ex-schoolmates, a (female) psychologist, is not the only theme of the story. The crime has certain features typical of those perpetrated by deviants, but also some bizarre, ritual elements. The victim – an attractive, but intolerant woman, has contributed by her stubborn approach to the conviction of a large number of criminals, sentenced to many years in prison. But some of her colleagues had good reasons to hate her just as much. She was pushy, and did not hesitate to hit below the belt. We are following the story of a recently released prisoner, who is convinced that she has wronged him and is determined to get even with her. Parallel to the purely “detective” line is that of the ex-convict´s story – a rough thriller. Both genres intersect in the dramatic finale. Because a dangerous and lethal threat, so far concealed, is lurking in the background …
