A charming private chronicle of the 20th century by renowned animation director Michaela Pavlatova. The film recreates the personal life of a 93-year-old woman named Grandma Marta nothing but small, unimportant events which, in their insignificance, resemble the circumstances of the lives of most other people. Pavlatova uses animation to bring Grandma´s personal memories back to life, and combines it with archive footage of what was happening outside Grandma´s apartment Windows the real history that influenced her life. In comparison with the revolutions and wars that marked the 20th Century, Grandma Marta´s memories of childhood, meeting her husband, and life during the war seems rather unremarkable. But, after all, isn´t the story of the inconspicuous life of everyman just as important as big history?
