ANGEL´S MEMORY

Paměť anděla

Angels Memory is a documentary film about the fascinating metamorphosis of a busy crossing in Pragues Smíchov quarter, which has always been called Anděl ( Angel). The modern rebuilding project, set in the former industrial section of the city, was designed by Jean Nouval, a renowned French architect. The modern attitude is to use the human memory to best effect, to seek continuity between old ideas and contemporary days. says the designer whose work is called 21st century architecture. Its characteristic elements are glass and the play of light. However, this is not only about the participation of architect Jean Nouvel and the Netherlands investor company, but about the common effort of all the participants to change a Prague quarter into a vital, throbbing place in modern Europe. We see the exciting adventure of collaboration in creating the city, and we hear about it from various other participants in this project. We participate from the documentary time-collection shots of the building process, to the blasting away of the former ČKD Tatra works, right up to the festive atmosphere during the opening of the new complex Golden Angel in November 2000. All this allows the viewer to become a witness to the unique realization of an example in world architecture.
