SEKAL HAS TO DIE

Je třeba zabít Sekala

A intense drama set in German-occupied Czechoslovakia, whose main hero becomes a hired killer against his will. Sekal, the unacknowledged illegitimate son of a local farm-owner, hates everyone and everything. Through his bitterness and cruelty he has denounced two farmers to the Nazis, and has, in return, received their property. But two farms are not enough. In their fear, the remaining farmers decide that it is necessary to kill Sekal, yet none is strong enough to perform the task. When Jura Baran, a man wanted by the Gestapo, shows up the local farmers believe they have found their savior. Under threat of exposure, Jura is 'persuaded' to do their dirty work. The struggle which ensues between Sekal and Baran is worthy of the highest tradition of Western drama.
