A film comedy set just after the victory of the 'Velvet Revolution.' The protagonists are former fellow students whose friendship has endured over the years despite their differing characters and professional lives. When straightforward Štěpán returns home to his native town he discovers the reality of budding private enterprise: his friends feel quite at home in it, able to resolve every situation without a qualm. Alone and without employment, he is still unable to come to terms with some of the practices they recommend. Finally, he meets a girl who brings new meaning to his life.
