Boomerang is a harsh and dramatic story about men singled out for extermination at a Communist labor camp, a film made according to the true life experiences of one who survived. In 1958, at last, Czechoslovak political courts began to clean up their act. Those prosecuted, particularly those government officials renowned for their sadistic treatment of political prisoners, soon found themselves locked up among the very men whose lives they had destroyed. The authentic situation which changed the 'judges' into prisoners is a strong statement of the times, but also raises questions on the nature of guilt and retaliation.
