Catalogue of Czech Television Programmes
This Czech situation comedy is set in April 1945, in a village and the surrounding countryside through which the defeated German army is escaping. The plot develops from a small misunderstanding cherchéz la femme, of course. Further mistakes and errors follow and a crazy comedy is the result. The Germans take off their uniforms to be able to desert inconspicuously, the Czechs put on the cast-off German helmets, sometimes willingly and sometimes unwillingly, either to escape or to save a friend, black man is either a Yankee or not, or a chimney-sweep or not or even a German officer. . . And they are all running away. By the end everyone is fleeing.
