Catalogue of Czech Television Programmes
Far from battlefields of World War II, the story of this powerful film focuses on the bizarre SS operation known as Lebensborn. The aim of this program was to select the healthiest and most beautiful young men and women in all the occupied territories in order to breed racially pure children into the so-called master race. The makers of the film start with the very beginnings of this process, the selection and preparation of girls for the arrival of the most handsome SS officers, and continue through to end, to the decadent party which was to make mothers of them all. The main character, a Czech girl named Gretchen, survives this incredible experience and is the only one who manages to extract a small bit of personal revenge.
