RUFFIANO AND SWEETEETH

Lotrando a Zubejda

A comedy for the whole family full of funny misunderstandings, humor and love, from the screenwriter of Kolya, 1997’s Oscar for Best Foreign Film. Deep in the forest lives Ruffiano, and old bandit too busy robbing to take notice of his son. He sends young Ruffiano to school at a monastery, but on his deathbed makes the youngster promise to continue with the family business. When put to the test, young Ruffiano finds he is no ruffian – but in the process a woodcutter teaches him how to fell trees. In the meantime, a Sultan is searching for a doctor to cure his ailing daughter, Sweeteeth. Mistakenly, young Ruffiano and the woodcutter come to the Sultan’s palace and manage to cure the Princess – with sunshine, fresh air and, most importantly, with love. The project gained the Eurimages grant.
